Established in 1963, the Herbert Palmer Gallery exhibits work of master American, European and Asian artists. As Los Angeles' oldest Modern and Contemporary international gallery, it was an important catalyst in the California scene as it developed in the early 1960's. The gallery was the first to exhibit now well-known British artists such as David Hockney and Bridget Riley.

Other artists who have had important early exhibitions with Herbert Palmer include such innovators as John Cage, Claus Oldenburg and Christo.

Today, the gallery's focus is on Twentieth Century Modernist art, guiding clients to realize and build their collections. Please see our exhibitions page as our offerings change with our current exhibitions.

Recently we are offering works by Henri Matisse, Herbert Bayer, Wolfgang Paalen, Lee Mullican, Shoichi Ida and many others. The gallery participates in online auctions through Ebay.
