1919
Studies art and architecture. After the Revolution family moves to Paris.

1920-25
Studies at the Academie Rancon with brother, Leonid, and Christian Berard, under Vuillard, Bonnard, and Vallotton. Visits Italy and Spain. Designs for Diaghilev and Ballet Russe.

1926
Exhibits in first 'Neo-Romantic' show at Durer Gallery with Berard, Tchelitchew, and Leonid.

1927-29
Exhibits in Paris: 1927, Galerie Granoff, 1928, Galerie de l'Eroile, 1929, Galerie Bonjean and Galerie des Quatre Chemins, 1929. Exhibits with Leonid and Jean Hugo at Balzac Gallery, New York.

1932
First New York one man exhibition, at Julian Levy Gallery.

1933-39
Exhibits in Paris, London, Chicago, and New York. 1936 executes murals for James Soby, 1939 Stage designs for Hartford Music Festival. Travels to California. 1938-1939 designs sets and costumes for Monte Carlo Ballet, London, Paris, New York. Visits Switzerland

1940-46
Returns to the United States, settles in California. Becomes US citizen. 1941-1942, touring Retrospective Exhibition organized by the Institute of Modern Art, Boston. Shown at Wadsworth Atheneum, Arts Club, Chicago, Portland Art Museum, San Francisco Museum of Art, Nelson Gallery of Art, Kansas City. One man exhibits in New York and Los Angeles. Retrospective exhibition, "The Theatre of Eugene Berman" Museum of Modern Art, New York.

1947-49
Exhibits at M.Knoedler &Co., in New York, London and Paris, an association that lasts until 1965. Receives Guggenheim Grant for travel and study in Mexico.

1950-62
Marries Ona Munson, travels to England, France and Italy. Designs sets and costumes for Metropolitan Opera productions of: "Rigoletto" 1951, "La Forza del Destino" 1952, "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" 1953, "Don Giovanni" 1956, "Otello" 1962.

1956-63
Settles in Rome permanently. Exhibits in Rome, Turin, London and New York.

1965
Last exhibition at M. Knoedler & Co., New York.
